Solar Clipper balsa wood kit 230 cm - Aeronaut

The Solar Clipper is an electric glider from the "400s with gears" generation - i.e. approx. 30+ years old. With today's drives, the model is flying
hardly any limits. Completely inherently stable in circles, it takes the smallest thermals with it, and a show close to the ground.
If you send the Solar Clipper on the route, it flies over it without any noticeable loss of altitude.
The two-part wing is equipped with steel connectors, the assembly on the fuselage is done with two dowels and plastic screws.
Convenient and quick access to the RC system is possible via the easily removable wing and large canopy.
Side parts of the fuselage are made of light plywood, the rest of the model is made of balsa.

Due to the large wing area, the model glides excellently even without a motor and takes the smallest thermals and updrafts with it to get up.
The large outer wing parts ensure a stable flight position, so that the model can be flown flexibly even when only using rudder.

In the 1990s, equipping the aircraft with solar cells to buffer the then current NiCd cells was a technically interesting option for flight times
to extend. With today's battery and motor technology, however, this buffer is no longer necessary. The solar cells are therefore not included in the scope of delivery.

The kit contains all the wooden parts needed for construction. The model also comes with a deep-drawn canopy.
A 1:1 construction plan and descriptive construction instructions are included in the kit. Instructions are in German and English.
