EU battery recycling law info

EU Battery Law Information

The following information is intended for those who use batteries/accumulators or products with built-in batteries/accumulators and no longer resell them in the form in which they were delivered (end users):

1. Free Return of Used Batteries

Batteries must not be disposed of with household waste. You are legally obliged to return used batteries and accumulators to ensure proper disposal. You can dispose of used batteries and accumulators at a municipal collection point or at a local retailer.
As a distributor of batteries/accumulators, we are obliged to take back used batteries/accumulators. Our take-back obligation is limited to those products that we carry or have carried in our product range as new batteries/accumulators.
You can therefore either return used batteries/accumulators of the aforementioned type to us with sufficient postage or hand them in free of charge at the following address:

S&K Ideas Kft (RCHUNGARY), 2011 Budaklász, József Attila utca 55 / B (Please note the opening hours - www.rchungary.hu).

2. Meaning of the Battery Symbols

Batteries are marked with the symbol of a crossed-out garbage can (see above). This symbol indicates that batteries must not be disposed of with household waste. For batteries containing more than 0.0005% mercury by mass, more than 0.002% cadmium by mass, or more than 0.004% lead by mass, the chemical name of the respective pollutant is located below the garbage can symbol – where "Cd" stands for cadmium, "Pb" for lead, and "Hg" for mercury.
